WHEN IN ROME...ELOPEMENT
Today I'm going to share with you a darling Rome Elopement inspired by the movie "When in Rome." Abigail and Connor eloped in the Eternal City this past Spring. They chose a destination elopement for the simplicity and intimacy. They loved having the freedom to make the elopement exactly what they wanted without the restrictions of a traditional wedding back in the states. It was a surreal day, just the two of them.
HOW THEY PERSONALIZED THEIR ROME ELOPEMENT
They went into their elopement with the mindset to be their authentic selves. So much so that Connor walked to Campo de' Fiori the morning of their elopement and handpicked Abigail's wedding bouquet. They were able to save several of the blooms in a flower press and the ribbon that tied the bouquet together.

Their favorite wedding day detail would actually be many bride’s worst nightmare, the rain! But it made everything so unexpectedly beautiful. The lighting made the colors in the photos so dreamy.

They mainly did everything theirselves with Rochelle's help who helped design their Rome Elopement. From hair and makeup to hand picking the wedding bouquet. They wanted their wedding day to reflect who they were as a couple as much as possible.
Their ROME ELOPEMENT details
They wanted their wedding to feel simple, yet elegant and classic. Abigail and Connor wanted to look back at their wedding photos fifty years from now and still be just as in love with them as the first time they saw them.
Abigail wore a simple satin dress with an open back. Connor choose a black tux finished with a bowtie.
They choose Rome because Connor had lived there for several weeks while studying abroad and fell in love with it. Once Abigail and Connor decided they were going to elope, Rome just felt like the perfect place.
special advice from Abigail to other brides to help prepare them for their destination elopement
Abigail's advice is to try and make the elopement reflect who you are as a couple. You can never go wrong choosing what makes you happy. On YOUR wedding day nothing else matters besides each other.
How did You meet and get engaged?
"We have known each other since kindergarten. We don’t know exactly how we met, but we do know that during our junior year of high school we couldn’t be apart. We had been dating for six years when Connor proposed."
