Sure, it’s easy to just turn your wedding over to the venue, and sign up for all the elopement packages that flood the market. Everything is included, from flowers to menú to decor. All you have to do is find a dress. What’s wrong with that? Well, it’s easy, but there won’t be anything personal about the most important day in your life so far.
Your flowers, your color scheme… everything will be exactly the same as every other wedding these people organize. Your photos will be staged and unnatural. No one on your wedding team will know you, know your tastes and personal style, or know anything about the two of you as a couple and your unique love story.
You’ll be done in a few minutes, and you’ll know exactly what it’s all going to cost.
WHAT WILL YOU MISS?
You’ll miss the fun of designing your own day, of getting to know your partner better by making these choices as a couple.
With a standard elopement package, you won’t have an elopement wedding that feels and looks like the two of you, and your photographs won’t be an accurate reflection of your love for each other.
WHAT’S THE ALTERNATIVE TO ELOPEMENT PACKAGES?
Instead of opting for a package deal, find a wedding designer who will take the time to get to know you. Find someone whose personality you like, a professional who makes you feel comfortable and understands intuitively what you’re all about. An experienced wedding designer will have a repertoire of florists, makeup artists, decorators, caterers, and will custom choose the exact right team for you. He or she will be knowledgeable about a variety of elopement destinations. She’ll be able to recommend hotels, restaurants, the best backdrops, the best time of year and time of day.
Unlike a wedding package, a wedding designer won’t be getting a percentage from the vendors she recommends, so she’ll base her choices entirely on your personalities and preferences.
But won’t that be a lot more work? Maybe you’re already too busy and can’t even think about planning your wedding. Maybe that’s why you decided to elope in the first place. Actually, you’d be surprised. You can accomplish a lot in that first interview. Give her a budget and decide together how to allocate those funds. She’ll take it from there, organizing a wedding team specifically tailored to your needs and tastes.
