ELOPE IN LA JOLLA, CALIFORNIA Today I’m going to give you some ideas on how to elope in La Jolla. I’ll also share a real-life elopement held in the beautiful La Valencia Hotel.
La Jolla is a picturesque town in Southern California and is considered The Jewel of America’s Finest City San Diego.
This small seaside village has inspired many artists and wanderlust travelers for decades.
Know for its Dramatic coastline, incredible beaches, fine dining, art galleries, posh boutiques, and most of all, the sweeping panoramic ocean views.
The beaches in So-Cal are gorgeous!
It’s perfect both for barefoot ceremonies with striking landscapes or seascapes for backdrops or an elegant affair held at one of the venues like La Valencia.
There are countless outdoor adventures and things to do on your honeymoon, whether you’re there for a day or a few weeks.
The best news of all, it’s always wedding season in La Jolla. San Diego will always be on the top for wedding destinations with sunshine year-round and the majestic Pacific behind you.
Now let me walk you through Autumn & Anthony’s elopement held in La Valencia (or better know as the Pink Lady).
Anthony & Autumn had initially planned to elope in the Amalfi Coast. Covid changed their plans, and they decided on eloping in Southern California.
What inspired them to elope?
“Let’s be honest traditional weddings are expensive and stressful” declares Autumn.
They were referred to me by another couple who I had helped elope in Ravello, Italy. After looking into the thought of eloping, they fell in love with the romance and intimacy it allowed.
“What better way to start your marriage than having a day with just the two of you and focusing on nothing but each other, ” says Autumn, the bride.
They added personal details to their day, making it more meaningful to them both.
Anthony wore his grandfather’s cuff ink. They brought The Rutgers University Flag for photos since that is where they met. They included some small items from family members, which was a great way to make them feel part of their day.
Their favorite wedding day details were incorporating so much of the town in their photographs during newlywed excursions. They took photos in some of the famous places in town.
“I think our pictures had some meaning as they weren’t just standard wedding poses. They were authentic, about us.
The inspiration behind their elopement was the Amalfi Coast.
They were initially supposed to get married there in 2020, but Covid had other plans. When they found La Jolla, Ca, and the Mediterranean-inspired La Valencia, they saw a similar vibe with incredible views and the decor and architecture of La Valencia.
Bride’s advice for upcoming couples who want to elope in La Jolla California:
“There are no rules for you to follow when eloping – that’s the main beauty of an elopement!
You can include traditional wedding customs, or you can forget them altogether.
Eloping also allows you to spend your money on the things that are important to you. If you love flowers, great, go crazy with floral arrangements. But if flowers aren’t important or don’t fit your budget, a simple bouquet will do too.
Also, don’t downplay your day just because your eloping. It’s just as much an essential day as the couple who had 300 guests at their reception.”
