Victoria is from Sweden and Andreas from Norway, however the bride and groom both live and work in Dubai. Thankfully they are avid travelers, so a Puglia destination wedding quenched their wanderlust. The 18th century S. Francesco D’Assisi’s Church in Monopoli was picture-perfect for their ceremony where Victoria wore a striking Monique Lhuillier ball gown and Jimmy Choo sandals channeling the essence of a beach bride. Her bridesmaids were dressed in Dessy mix and match styles of blues and purples that complimented the seaside backdrop and Italian skies – also paying homage to Victoria’s favorite color. Their guests shared a stroll through the town of Monopoli leading them to the reception at I Montilli di Brisacane where the unique stone huts with conical roofs (called trulli) created signature portraits that will forever remind them of this cherished day. They stopped along the way at various strategic locations throughout Puglia for their portraits which known to be a place for savvy travelers escaping the frenzy and manicured lands of Tuscany and Campania. Top of the list for prospective newcomers is the food – ideal for the newlyweds. Puglia’s “cucina povera” is about as earthy as Italian cuisine gets. The exuberant architecture certainly shines off the long Mediterranean coastline.
For Andreas, seeing Victoria walk down the aisle looking exactly like a princess – that moment took his breath away filling his senses with the knowledge that she would be his forever. For Victoria, as her father and she pulled up to the church and she saw her bridesmaids waiting outside, butterflies immediately took over. She was nervous, excited and blessed at in one fragile moment. The one that really hit her that she was about to marry the man of her dreams surrounded by the people who meant so much to them. A true celebration of love for these voyagers.
