Confetti & Daydreams | Destination Wedding Photography in Positano, Italy
I think it’s no big secret that we are slightly obsessed with the idea of a wedding in Italy! So when we heard that New Yorkers Somphone and Arian had professed their eternal love to each other under an arch of bright yellow lemons in a dreamy Positano destination beach wedding, we just knew that we had to share it with you! The lovely couple said “I do” at the Hotel Il San Pietro, overlooking Italy’s Amalfi Coast, which sits on a small cliff, just a few feet away from the beach. Bellisimo!
The couple had always been fond of Italy and since Positano was the city where Arian proposed, they decided it would be the perfect place to have their destination beach wedding. Som and Arian added their own personal flair to the event by doing all the calligraphy by hand and having Somphone’s brother illustrate the designs for the website, invites and menus.
But the couple’s favorite details were the lemon arch made by Floragarden, the wedding cake, the fish-shaped savory pastry, and the special gift bags made for each of the guests: indigo totes that held custom commemorate plates and a small book by John Steinbeck about Positano.
With no bridal party and a small guest list, the wedding was a very intimate destination wedding photography affair. Photographer Rochelle Cheever of A Romantic Journey photography was able to catch the entire day’s events, beginning with each smiling face as the excited group of family and friends climbed on the boat that would take them to the hotel. Grazie, Rochelle!
