Alice and Micheal had an exquisite Lake Como intimate wedding at Villa Balbianello. They celebrated with both their families keeping the whole day very quaint. Actually, they enjoyed a good week as they rented a Villa on the Lake where everyone stayed. From San Francisco, the couple traveled to Italy in September for their beautiful Autumn wedding. The weather was perfect.
A drop-dead gorgeous gown, gorgeous details, ceremony at Villa Balbianello, newlywed boat ride exploring Lake Como’s villages ending their day with a romantic candlelit dinner – I mean, does it get any better?
Alice and Michael got ready (in separate rooms) at the Villa, and had their first look at the garden overlooking Lake Como and the Swiss Alps. A boat came to pick them up and whisked them away to Villa Balbianello where they had their ceremony with their families. For their newly wed photos, they enjoyed a boat ride stopping at various strategic places around the Lake and returning for dinner at their Villa.
The best time to get married in Lake Como, Italy is between May and the end of September. July and August can be very very warm and tend to get crowded so I would avoid these two months. Ideally, your reception will be in the afternoon/evening.
If you want to have a civil wedding, I suggest beginning securing wedding licenses and permits at least 6 months in advance in order to be able to book your spot.
Since Lake Como is probably one of the most popular destinations, it’s best to plan even a year or two in advance if you want something nice for a Lake Como Intimate Wedding.
There really aren’t many places as beautiful to have a small wedding as Lake Como. You have amazing landscapes, and romantic villages throughout the lake, with lots of luxury hotels and private villas to choose from.
When you elope at Villa Balbianello, you arrive by boat and celebrate the ceremony in a stunning courtyard overlooking the lake. And what an entry the couple had!
