Destination Wedding Photography Rome, Italy
Amanda and Howard traveled from California to the sacred city of Rome for their special day. Gift bags, made by the bride’s mother, met guests at their hotels with a map of the city, and details on the three days of wedding activities. A pre-wedding dinner kicked off the festivities at the renowned restaurant Gusto, located in the heart of the Eternal City’s historic center. Rochelle Cheever was there to capture the fun night and wedding, a familiar face after photographing the engagement party back San Diego. The couple chose Rome as the destination for the big event because it fit so well with their theme, timelessness and elegance.
This concept provided inspiration behind the white and silver color pallet used for the wedding and bride’s attire. The beautiful dress’s detailing matched the background where the bride prepared and ceremony took place, Hotel de Russie. A classic white gown with gray lace overlay, a sweetheart neckline and tiny pearl buttons that stretched down the train. Amanda’s jewelry, Menbur shoes and hairpiece all glittered in the silver white style but her bouquet, made from numerous red roses, offered a pop of color. The same shade of passion formed a petal-lined path that led her to her soon to be husband after descending the winding staircase. Howard, whom she had met seven years prior on that very same day, had added his own dash of Roman Red in the form of a tie while dressing in his custom tuxedo by designer Thomas James at Hotel Splendide Royal. Amanda says she floated through the day but now can settle back to relive the event that she will cherish for the rest of her life through her beautiful wedding photos.
