A Chic-Bohemian Tuscany Wedding

Wedding

Tuscany Wedding Photography Borgo Lucignano Bandini

Getting married in Tuscany is always a good idea especially if you hold the wedding at the Italian Medieval Village of Borgo Lucignello, a dream location tucked away in the Tuscan Hills, which has it all: rolling hills, ancient olive orchards and panoramic views of the Val d’Orcia, which is a Unesco Heritage Site. Six of the charming farmhouses in the village offer accommodations, and the nearby villages are enchanting, as well. For instance, San Giovanni d’Asso, is famous for white Truffles. Need I say that the local food and wine are sublime? I’ve photographed two weddings there, and it has got to be one of my favorite venues. This part of Tuscany is always a pleasure.

Meike and Christoph’s Tuscany Wedding

Her love of the magnificent countryside, inspired Meike  to get married in Tuscany. I’d guess that the warm, cozy sunlight played a big part in her choice, as well, since she comes from Germany, so sunshine is always welcome. Her concept or the wedding was Bohemian Chic. Everything was down to earth with a lot of love for the little details. Her intention was to create a magical atmosphere so that everyone could relax and enjoy.

Meike and Christoph’s wedding was perfection, with about 100 close friends celebrating with them. Meike, who is a creative director, fine tuned her wedding, filling it with personal designs and details.

After a long search for a wedding gown, she created her own dress from vintage lace, with the help of designer Katrin Bobek.  Meike’s mood boards, were the inspiration for the flowers, which were executed by local florist, Puscina Flowers

Meike and Christoph stayed in the village, renting out the various villas at Lucignano Bandini for three days to accommodate guests. Their dog Henri,  was the ring bearer. And for transportation, Christoph , who collects cars, bought a vintage Lamborghini and drove it all lover Tuscany during the honeymoon.

How romantic is that?

From Meike, the bride:

“We did the most details on our own … We had a lovely candy bar – set up by a friend of us, pastel colored balloons everywhere, hand painted wooden signs to show our guests the way … We put polaroid pictures of us and our friends on the olive trees to give them space to get easy in contact with each other, … I am an art director and have my agency in Munich … My whole team helped and did an amazing job!”

Tell us a little bit about how you chose your invitations, flowers, venue, and dress:

“To match the overall concept we had letterpress invitations on uncoated paper, wild flowers in different colored jars and the most stunning venue we’ve ever seen … We did a mood board first to get the right feeling for all elements … Everything should feel informal … … We had wooden wine barrels; our guests sat on hay bales during the ceremony … We found a lot of good inspiration on the internet (thank you, Pinterest) … and mixed the ingredients.
